There was a "winter storm" on Thursday night, sleet and frozen rain and snow. We're OK, both cars have new tires, and the house is fine. It wasn't fun hacking off 2 inch thick chunks of snow and ice from the windscreen at 6am

Over 180,000 houses are still without power in the St Louis area on Monday evening. Really good seeing people in church helping each other out, doing laundry and offering places to stay in houses and apartments with AC. Church had to move as the school we normally meet in

Power was restored around 10am, while I was doing laundry at Rox's and helping her ply some yarn she'd spun on the Kiwi. By "helping" I mean sitting next to her and making encouraging noises, she did very well on her own.
