Things to watch out for in 2007 (part 1)

Lemon Festival in Menton, France

For dozens of years, the lemon festival delights thousands of people come from all parts of the world. The Lemon became the symbol of the city of Menton.  From the golden citrus parade of floats to the giant citrus decorations in the Biovès gardens.  The 74th Menton Lemon Festival will celebrate15 days of joy and exuberant furies spread all around the streets...

15 days offered to the festive kids and the voluble feast...

15 days when the streets belong to the giants, to the music bands and to the  acrobats..

With masked or painted faces, traditional costumes or clown suits, sumptuous caps or alluring wigs, the Festival of Lemon invites the Carnivals of the World.

And at the end of the festival, King Carnival is neither burnt, nor drowned but quite simply crystallized or pressed!

This takes place from 17th February to 7th March 2007, they make huge sculptures from lemons, oranges, and grapefruits.  The site has pictures from previous festivals that are amazing.
