Post NaNoWriMo writing

After NaNoWriMo 2008, a bunch of us wanted to continue the year-long writing experiment we tried last year.  The group has a shared premise for stories, and can borrow each other's characters to create interweaving stories.  Last year we had a fantasy premise, which was hard for me.  This year we have sci-fi and I'm loving it.

Completed my first story for the Sunday afternoon meetup last week. Went to the Crooked Tree Coffee House in St Charles, only a 20 minute drive from Crestwood, despite the South St Louis people claiming everywhere was too far away.  It's a nice, out of the way coffee shop with a fantastic hazelnut mocha, though the wireless internet doesn't often let Macs online.

The story was my first experiment with writing in the first person, and it was hard!  There was so much I couldn't convey because my main character would have no knowledge of it.  Made it up to 1400 words and it got the message across.  Started work on a second story, also in first person.  This one should be longer.  Hubby wrote a drabble for the group, a story in precisely one hundred words.  I'm working on a second story now and Hubby added an evil twist to the plot.
