Tuesdays Are For Haiku 2013
It seemed like a good idea at the time. A haiku, 5-7-5 format, once a week on Tuesdays, to capture a moment in that Tuesday. I did this most of 2011, I'll try it in 2013.
January 2013
01/01/2013
Snowy ground, still air,
Warm cat purring on my lap,
The start of the year.
01/08/2013
Ragged, pink, orange
clouds through high office window.
Sunrise in winter.
01/15/2013
Dark, smoky, fresh ground,
Coffee, muffin, next to me,
Breakfast on the run.
01/22/2013
Snowflake on eyelash
Slushy streets, move gingerly
Warm inside, quiet.
01/29/2013
Concrete beams weeping,
Tears of condensation fall.
Strange Midwest weather.
February 2013
02/05/2013
Nineteen years ago,
First date nerves, candlelit meal,
Borrowed scarf, first kiss.
02/12/2013
Solitary day,
Keyboard, self, and task to do,
Music helps me work.
02/19/2013
Icy puddles as
Roadside weather trackers,
Ice storm is coming.
02/26/2013
Dirty melting snow
Grey skies and rain, but inside
Mug of fresh, hot tea.
March 2013
03/05/2013
Gasping, heart pounding,
Step after step after step.
Elevators out.
03/12/2013
Head full of concrete,
Eyes ache, thoughts move slowly,
Quarantined at work.
April
04/02/2013
Coding my way through
Writing a broken program
Deliberately!
04/09/2013
Stretch out aching limbs,
Drinking extra water, the
day after sparring.
04/23/2013
Leaf buds appearing
Green against the leaden sky,
Storm season in Spring.
May
05/21/2013
Clouds blend to clear grey,
Puddles, wet grass, branches down,
Storm has passed for now.
