Old Friday Five

The Friday Five.  Didn't like the look of this week's one, so this Five is from February 15th

  1. What was the first thing you ever cooked?
Sweet scone/cookie things with strawberry jam in the middle
  1. What's your signature dish?
Bread pizzas (glorified cheese on toast) and beef stew.
  1. Ever had a cooking disaster? (tasted like crap, didn't work, etc.) Describe
Not exactly a cooking disaster, but shortly after we started dating, Hubby to be came over for dinner and I managed to tip his plateful on the floor while trying to open the kitchen door.  I was mortified, he laughed, and we shared my plateful.
  1. If skill and money were no object, what would make for your dream meal?
Probably something with fish.  It's hard to get fish in the Midwest, even in a Jewish/Catholic town.  I'd love a traditional English fry up, egg, fried bread, real bacon (non-streaky), English sausages, black pudding, and a hot cup of tea.
  1. What are you doing this weekend?
Going to Innsbrook conference centre for the Alpha course Holy Spirit weekend.  Should be interesting.  Last time I was at Innsbrook was with Kim Seibel, we drove through the gates and immediately got lost, spending a good twenty minutes driving around the place trying to find the condo, occasionally passing Carol and Dana Engleman, who looked as lost as we did.  Great fun.
