House related panic

The house external-scrape-and-paint job starts on Friday.  The fence

rip-out-and-replace job starts when the wood arrives at the fencing company.  Both jobs will be finished hopefully by the end of this month but I get twitchy and panicky about spending large sums of money.  No-one said house-owning was this expensive.  At least these are the last two major projects, besides my fantasy of destroying the monster trees.  I love the house, it has oodles of character, more space than we can fill, a wonderful big driveway, but darn it!  The expensive goodies, computer hardware, and world travel fund is being frittered away on a fence and some paint!  Why can't I be irresponsible for a change?
