Green!

I crossed the threshold at lunchtime, my NaNoWriMo 2008 novel is at 50138 words.  I'm writing chapter eleven of twelve, so I still have some story to get done, but it's a good feeling to see the icon change from "Participant" to "WINNER".

Wrote the big confrontation scene with the bad guy, and it was hard work.  Really hard work.  I'm not entirely happy with how it came out, and I'll probably tweak it later.  I'm not validating the novel on the NaNoWriMo site yet because it took 200 words off my total when I checked last week.  I want a comfortable cushion of words to be sure I've won.

The St Louis region has written over 5.5 million words so far this month and there's still a week to go.
