Pattern: My own: Orwell Bridge scarf (Ravelry link)
Yarn: Rowan RYC Silk Wool DK
Needles: US3 and US4
Duration: 1st January to 9th January
Ravelry project: Orwell Bridge Scarf
The scarf is a tuck-in neckwarmer for the gap between coat and chin, made with a luxurious yarn. I've made this in Great Northern Yarns 70% mink 30% cashmere yarn, and their 100% yak yarn, and both are lovely to wear. The body of the scarf needed to be longer than I expected to accommodate motion, thanks to Winterhart for pointing that out.

The purl ridges up the sides really need blocking to pull them out, but they stop the scarf from twisting. The increases and decreases are borrowed from a sock toe I like, and a doubled stocking stitch middle keeps the wind out without requiring the fabric to be bulletproof, which I'm more than capable of producing but it's not too comfy to wear. I like this pattern. I hope you do too.
