Weight lifting progress
In my journal I started listed out the current gym records, and from my notebook, the starting weights for those exercises. It was a bit of a shock!
From September 2025 to March 2026, the increases from my starting weights are thus:
- Leg Press double 268lb
- Leg Press single 58lb
- Biceps 5lb
- Triceps 10lb
- Chest press 30lb
- RDL 65lb
- Leg curl 10lb
- Leg extension 10lb
- Lat pull 35lb
I started going to the gym in August 2025, working with a trainer once a week. I find the barbell hard to keep hold of, but the trap bar (a hex-shaped weight holder) is much easier.
Did not intend ever to be a gym rat, but going three times a week keeps the brain weasels in check, helps me sleep, and I'm building muscle.
