Pattern help

Came in to work to find a pretty bag containing two balls of Blue Sky Alpacas Worsted yarn, and a lovely card from Nancy.  Thank you!  Cuddly soft yarn in a good colour, what in the world do I knit with it?  It happened that today was a mite chilly in the office, so I'm thinking some kind of shawl.  I draw the line at fringes, ponchos, and looking like an old lady, and I like cables and texture patterns.  Any pattern suggestions?  I've never knit a shawl in my life.  I'm not afraid to try lace but the Flower Basket shawl just doesn't appeal to me.
