Spinning FO: Wild Thing Merino

Finally finished a spinning project:

Merino skein, overplied.

Superwash merino from Crown Mountain Farms

182 yds, 3 oz

2 ply, wheel spun, sock weight ish

This has been sitting on a bobbin for months, and I was tired of it.  Plied it with way more twist than usual after reading Abby's plying posts (part 1 and part 2), washed it roughly in alternating hot and cold water (a LOT of dye came out), and hung it up to dry in the bathroom.

Parts of it are better than others, but I'm proud of this one.  Parts of it look like Koigu, it's soft and fluffy, and the colours are great.  Shockingly, it's balanced, it wasn't when it came off the niddy.  I'll do the rest of the fibre another time, I need a break from it for a while.

Currently working on some baby camel fluff on a Kundert spindle, both from Maryland Sheep and Wool this May.  It will be a Navajo plying experiment when I've done the other half ounce.
