Birthday relaxation

I try and take a day off work for my birthday every year, so today I took a field trip to The Loopy Ewe looking for some red yarn.  After someone nearly peeled the socks off my feet yesterday, it seemed expedient to knit her some of her own.  I picked this up for her:  Apple Laine yarn (50% wool, 20% mohair, 20% silk, 10% nylon) in Red Delicious.  Also snagged a pattern from Heartstrings Fiber Arts, not necessarily for each other.  Once I finish the Chiral Slayer socks I'll start this yarn, which looks intriguingly shiny and fuzzy.

Apple Laine yarn.

The Loopy Room is full (very full!) of wonderful yarn, and a sweet cat called Zoe, who seemed to like me.  Sheri was very sweet to let me into her house, and I'd love to go back some day.

In other birthday news, Hubby gave me a year's subscription to Digital Blasphemy, the best computer wallpaper site online (with 20 stunning free wallpapers anyone can download), and a Teavana teamaker and mug, which made my year because I love their blending of green and rooibos teas.  Yarn, knitting, reading, and tea, a very good day indeed!
