If you came through a webring, you might have seen this description of my blog:
Opinionated British blog, currently living in the US. Random thoughts, programming, history, web design, news, humour, Christianity, tea, quantum mechanics, knitting, opinions.
This is my weblog, online journal, online diary, blog, whatever you want to call it. This is the portion of my life I choose to place online, assuming the people I would least like to read it are checking in every hour to get the latest updates. Employers, bosses, people I should have written to ages ago and didn't, people I lost track of, people who can't stand me (hi, didn't expect to see you here), people who were in the blind spot of my car when I pulled out a lane on Highway 40, everyone. Anyone.
You are free to comment on my blog, but once you do, I will censor, edit, or delete your comment at will. Play nice, and this won't happen. You are responsible for your own comments, edited or not, and I keep an email copy of the original comment. Honest disagreement and civil discussion are welcome, trolls, insults, and spam are not. Comments go into the moderation queue unless you've been comment-approved before. This is my site, and I decide what is acceptable.
I don't use pseudonyms, mostly I don't refer to the people or organisations that have annoyed me by name.
We got a kitten in early July 2002, and another in September, so there will be kitten references and occasional cute pictures. The first one's name is Quantum and she has no tail. Her previous owners didn't want her back after they drove over the tail and crushed it beyond repair, requiring amputation. The second one is Tangle, he was the one with the most attitude from a litter of eight abandoned in a barn, slowly starving to death on a diet of insects, another rescue kitten. I'll try and stay objective and not descend into mindless "look at my little kitty" babble. At least, not often.
There is no "story arc" to my blog, it's just the things that occur to me as I go through the days and weeks. It's more a Star Trek: The Next Generation blog (episodic) than a Babylon 5 blog (with a 5 year story arc).
I am a Christian, so Christian references will appear in the blog. If this bothers you, you don't have to read it. Simple and effective. This is my church, and I agree with their statement of beliefs. CDP will appear too, it is an acronym for the Christian Depression Pages web site, which I run.
Blogs I read regularly are listed in the sidebar. I prefer people with something to say, rather than "Look at this quiz I just took!! Isn't that cool!!!!" Multiple exclamation marks, and a tidy desk, are the signs of a diseased mind.
Take a look in the Desk Drawer to find out more about me, or take a look at my Amazon wishlist. You could even drop me an email.
