Yeah! I tend to refer to DPN's as "wrestling a porcupine" but same thing. I couldn't agree more. Have you tried the Addi Turbo needles yet? I really liked using a circ for most things but after trying the Turbos I won't buy ANY other needles...they are that good! I met Stephanie in Downingtown, PA a few weeks ago. She is amazing though I'm sure she doesn't get it...why we all feel that way about her. I think she thinks its all about the knitting. And, to some extent it is...but she is a form of inspiration in her own right--a knitting rockstar. Anyway, nice to meet you.

I've never quite gotten the hang of magic loop. Seems like it would work a lot better if SOMEONE would make circular needles with shorter pointy bits. I've been working on a pair of socks --one on an 11" circular and one on dpns. My hands seem to know what to do better with dpns. I'm not any faster but I don't have to watch as closely.

I agree that sitting amongst so many knitters is an amazing experience. Usually I'm the only one knitting.

Have you managed to combine the quantum mechanics and knitting? Sincing reading your blog I'm now going to reread the issue of Scientific American pertaining to "Computing with Quantum Knots" and see if there are potential knitting designs to be found.
